Volunteer
There’s a place for everyone to make a difference. SOFESA offers volunteer opportunities that bring our community together — creating meaningful connections between the housed and unhoused, and building healthy relationships rooted in dignity and care.
Christmas of Hope Celebration
Our biggest event of the year, the Christmas of Hope Celebration, brings joy to all our SOFESA children and their families. This festive gathering includes a warm dinner with dessert, live entertainment, wrapped gifts, new shoes, Christmas stockings, arts and crafts, a carol sing-along, and a special visit from Santa Claus. It’s a night filled with hope, laughter, and love.
Emergency Outreach
Through our Emergency Outreach Program, we respond to families in urgent need — offering up to three nights of motel shelter, food, clothing, personal items, and gas assistance. In moments of crisis, we provide more than essentials — we provide care and connection.
24/7 Family Text Line
Our 24/7 Family Text Line is a lifeline for registered SOFESA families. Whether facing a challenge, asking a question, sharing good news, or simply saying hello, families can reach out anytime — because that’s what families do.
Volunteer Wrapping Party
Every December, SOFESA hosts a joyful Volunteer Wrapping Party to prepare for our Christmas of Hope Celebration. Generous volunteers gather to wrap hundreds of gifts, fill stockings, and organize new shoes for the children and families we serve. It’s a lively evening of teamwork, music, and holiday cheer where the spirit of giving shines brightly. Together, we ensure that every child will experience the magic of Christmas.
