Jess’s Story
Founder/Executive Director
Jess Echeverry is a leading voice in the fight to heal homelessness. As a wife, mother, and Catholic social teaching advocate, she draws deeply from her own lived experience of homelessness to guide her life’s mission. For over 25 years, she has led SOFESA, a relationship-centered organization dedicated to serving homeless families with dignity, compassion, and love. Jess is an award-winning thought leader who speaks at national forums—both secular and religious—challenging misconceptions about homelessness and advancing the truth that every human life has dignity. Her work has been featured on ABC, EWTN, Relevant Radio, National Catholic Register, Catholic Answers, and more. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Charlie and their adult children.
