Christmas of Hope
The Christmas of Hope Celebration is our biggest event for all of our SOFESA children and their families. This party includes a full dinner with dessert, live entertainment, wrapped Christmas presents, a pair of new shoes, stuffed Christmas stockings, arts and crafts activities, Christmas Carol sing-a-long, and a visit from Santa Claus! Transportation for those families who need it is available. Gas cards are provided for families with vehicles. You must register your family in order to attend.
Emergency Outreach
Our Emergency Outreach Program provides up to 3 nights in a motel (shelter), food, clothing, personal items and gas emergency needs. Once sheltered, SOFESA helps to connect families with resources available to them to obtain transitional and permanent housing.
Lifeline Program
Our Lifeline program for homeless women (regardless if they have ever had or are in custody of children) provides a new mobile phone with a portable charger for them so they can always contact with us.
Field Trips & Classes
It is our goal to introduce scenarios and opportunities for SOFESA families to concentrate on their positive mental and physical well being by learning about new things and experiences. Field trips and classes are important because they present the opportunity for SOFESA families to experience the arts and science in a hands on way. We work with local organizations and volunteers to provide opportunities for SOFESA families to go on field trips and take classes that provide for them these new life experiences.
Back to School BBQ
SOFESA invites all of our families for a Back to School BBQ with great food, sport activities, face painting and fun to close out the summer with a bang! Each student receives a backpack stuffed with new school supplies, uniforms if needed and laptops for high schoolers.
